SF Camerawork 2024 Silent Auction + Community Celebration

50 years ago, in 1974, a small collective of photographers met in Marin county to exhibit their work and to discuss experimentation, unconventional techniques, and sociopolitical themes within the art form. Within the year, the group was curating and showing in San Francisco. This new artist space soon took root as the arts non-profit we now know as SF Camerawork, and grew into a longstanding pillar of the art scene in one of the major international centers for photography. To this day, SF Camerawork has a reputation for nourishing the Bay Area's artistic community and spotting our next generation of image makers on the rise.

Join us as we kick off this momentous anniversary, celebrating the Camerawork community's tenacity and talent, with a silent auction featuring over 50 works by local artists, SF Camerawork members, and some of our internationally renowned alumni. This community celebration features entry points for art enthusiasts at all levels, with work ranging in value from just under $300 to over $3,000, and starting bids low as $125. Food, drinks and music will be provided for all, if you'd rather tip your glass than a paddle! (Though we encourage both). Enjoy a spread by San Francisco's own Bi-Rite, drinks by local purveyors Zaddy’s and Goodtimes, and music by artist and DJ David Wilson, all while overlooking the best gallery view in the city.
